Steve started full time with Hale Manufacturing in 1994 after various stints with the company in his school holidays as a teenager. As the Managing Director, Steve's role entails working to develop the business, expand the range of products and services and working to grow the turnover.

Steve enjoys the possibilities and opportunities that arise within the business and working to turn them into reality.

After completing a Bachelor of Business Studies at Massey University in Palmerston North, Steve spent a couple of years working in production management roles for Bonds Textiles and New Zealand Window Shades.

Away from work Steve has an interest for Vintage HiFi and old boats. He enjoys luxury tramping and spending time at the beach.

Steve Newland National Automotive Division Manager Auckland Branch

Steve joined Hale Manufacturing in 2005. He manages the Automotive Division of the company nationally. He is responsible for the management, implementation of marketing strategies, sales growth and overall development of the Automotive Divison in Auckland and Wellington.

Steve loves being a part of a forward thinking, challenge orientated-solutions focussed team. He enjoys working with lease companies and their clients. Sharing the knowledge he has gained over the years with staff and clients alike and every day learning something new from that very same group of people gives Steve a real buzz.

Joining the NZ Army at 16 gave Steve the opportunity to complete an Automotive Parts and Accessories Apprenticeship. He has worked for Toyota NZ and was a Toyota Parts Manager in Western Queensland before buying into an Alloy Acessories business in Brisbane which saw his involvement last 16 years.

Outside of work, Steve is involved in the Horse Racing industry. He manages a syndicate as well as race another horse with one of his best friends. Waltzing Matilda is still one of his favourite songs and (shockingly) he is watching the Wallabies with great interest!!!

Jeff Arnold Upper North Island Toilet Partition Manager Auckland Branch

Jeff joined Hale Manufacturing in October of 2010 and is the Toilet Partition manager for the Upper North Island and South Pacific region. His role is to deliver the product to the market in the best way possible. His responsibilities include the quoting and setting up of all jobs, liasing with existing customers and the development of new business in tandem with the Sales and Marketing division.

Jeff sights the most rewarding aspect of his role as the challenge of delivery of multiple jobs on time and up to our high standard to the market and the rewarding experience and buzz gained from at times achieving the impossible.

He is a qualified boat builder by trade and started his apprenticeship at the age of 16. He was involved in the superyacht industry for 26 years and moved into the project management of several muti-million dollar superyacht interior projects both locally and offshore before joining Hale Manufacturing.

Jeff's main passion is family and enjoys watching his two children growing up and enjoying their school and sporting goals. He is a keen multi-sports participant and competed in the 2007 NZ Ironman at Lake Taupo.

Trevor Gribble National Sales and Marketing Manager - Toilet Partitions & Washroom Equipment Auckland Branch

Trevor started with Hale Manufacturing in May of 2006. In his role of National Sales and Marketing Manager for Toilet Partitions and Washroom Equipment he oversees the sales and promotion of these product lines, striving to provide more market awareness and an improved product to the end user.

Trevor enjoys the interaction with clients and the challenges in developing new products, services and client base.

He has a predominately sales based background and also owned his own security company for a number of years.

Trevor is a motor racing enthusiast, with many of his weekends spent driving his race car throughout the Upper North Island. He also enjoys fishing, most sports, music and family.

David Kirkman Automotive Divison Wellington Area Manager Wellington Branch

David has been with Hale Manufacturing since June of 2010. His role as Wellington Area Manager for the Automotive Division involves the co-ordination and management of primarily van and ute fit-outs for trade and fleet opertators, supplying the plethora of options for a vehicle of this nature as seen on this website. David is proud to manage a small team with a big set of skills.

David is particulary proud to be a part of the supply and installation of the Alpha Canopy range, which he believes is the best looking canopy on the market. He enjoys coming up with solutions for the clients fit-out requirements and takes great pleasure in being able to amaze people with his teams capacity to tackle what seems like a complicated requirement with a simple solution.

A career in the Automotive parts industry saw David progressing thorugh the ranks from apprentice to branch manager. After 15 years the desire to embark on a new challange arose and as staying in the Automotive Industry was still a priority the move to Hale Manufacturing was a perfect fit.

Davids personal interests away from work are Family - he is married with 3 children and another on the way. Music - whether it be playing the bass guitar, listening to it and collecting LP's. Fishing - he prefers to catch, but will take it as it comes!

Alan Binns National Toilet Partition Manager Wellington Branch

Alan has worked for Hale Manufacturing since June of 1987. He manages the manufacture, supply, and installation of toilet partitions in the Lower North Island and South Island. As a part of his role as National Partition Manager, he works closely with the Auckland operation to improve and develop both the toilet cubicle range and in-house procedures, focusing on delivering a better product to the client.

Alan started his career as a Draughting Cadet at the Ministry of Works undertaking a NZ Cert of Engineering (Civil) course. After returning from the USA to play softball Alan worked for Odlins in Petone and Carters dealing with hardware, joinery products and laminates before joining Hale Manufacturing where he has been ever since.

Alan enjoys working with people inside the commercial building industry and forming relationships with a diverse range of personalities. He takes great satisfaction from seeing the final finished product on site.

In his spare time Alan is a keen golfer, Cronulla Sharks and American sports fan. He was an acomplished softball player playing in the USA and for Hutt Valley for a number of years. Spending time with friends and family and supporting his Grandchildren with their sporting endeavours are high on his list of things he enjoys in his time time away from work.

Peter Seal Truck Bodies Manager Wellington Branch

Peter began his apprenticeship with Hale Manufacturing way back in 1967 and upon completion left to gain experince elsewhere before returning to a full time role with the copmany in 1980. His role as Truck Bodies Manager involves customer liaison, quoting, production planning and purchasing for his department in Wellington.

Peter sights the biggest enjoyment he gets from his role as the very rewarding feeling when the client, guided by his experience and knowledge, is provided with an end result that exceeds their expectations.

A coachbuilder by trade - courtesy of his apprenticeship gained at Hale Manufacturing, Peter spent a short time as a sheetmetal worker.

Peter was heavily involved in committees and managing rugby and softball teams when his 3 boys were younger and now that they are adults his main interest is Motorsport, especially V8 Supercars.

Nick Johnson Area Sales Manager - Toilet Partitions & Washroom Equipment Wellington Branch

Nick joined Hale Manufacturing in May of 2010. His role as Area Sales Manager for Toilet Partitions and Washroom Equipment covers the Lower North Island and South Island. He is responsible for the product marketing and sales in this area, working closely with his colleagues to ensure that the total service that we provide is constantly improving and is in keeping with the trends and expectations of the market.

Interacting and dealing with such a broad range of people in his role on a daily basis is something that Nick enjoys about his role. Being able to promote such a sound and leading product range backed by an excellent company reputation makes it a role in which Nick is proud to undertake.

After completing Wellington College in 2004, Nick began a role with architectural hardware company Sopers as storeman working into a role as Assistant Branch Manager and Sales Manager in the five and a half years he spent with the company. Nick sights his time with Sopers as very enjoyable and a brilliant opportunity to form a good knowledge of the buidling industry.

Outside of work Nick is a avid participant and follower of most sports especially horse racing (still harbouring a slight desire to become a commentator!), rugby league, rugby, cricket, basketball and touch rugby. Nick also enjoys playing the guitar and socialising with family and friends as a way to relax.
